Bio:
After graduating from David
Lipscomb High School, Lynda attended and graduated from David Lipscomb
University. She then went on to receive a Masters degree in Education
Administration from Tennessee State University. Lynda married Paul Warf in
1967. Together they had two children. Heather, now 29, followed in her
mother’s footsteps and studied education at Belmont University. Her son
Nicholas is now 27. He graduated from Belmont University in 2000, with a degree
in Business Administration and is now a Financial Advisor. Throughout his
college years, he marched with the Vanderbilt University band, where he met his
wife. They have been married for two years now.
Lynda taught in the Hickman County school system for 23 years. For the last few years that she was there, she taught sixth grade at East Hickman Middle School. Her classes were known for their use of computer technology wherever it could be applied.
Our mother died on March 14, 1997 at the age of 51. Her funeral was attended by hundreds of her friends, fellow teachers, students, and former students. On the day of the funeral parents were urged to pick their children up early from school. And for those who were unable to pick there children up early, other parents volunteered to stay with the kids at school so that all of the teachers could attend. To this day, we still run into people who tell us she was their favorite teacher and how she touched their lives.
